This annual event gives families a chance to connect in a cheerful, festive environment. The night started off with a cookie-decorating activity, where kids could customize their own holiday-themed cookies.

For attendee Sophie Lin and her family, the event is a yearly tradition. “We come here every year,” she said. “It’s just a great place to celebrate Christmas with our family.”

Inside the library, children got the chance to take photos with Santa while sipping on free hot chocolate provided by the library. Alongside hot cocoa, a stand in front of the library sold warm beverages and pastries, such as coffee and croissants.

Attendee Thiri Su studies in the library often, but especially enjoys the holiday season. “It’s really nice to study here and be in a festive mood,” she said.

Finally, as the sun set, volunteer organizers of the event lit the tree, covering the clearing in a soft glow and transforming it into a stunning spectacle of lights. “It’s just a nice time,” Su said. “It makes me happy.”
