In celebration of their final few weeks on M-A’s campus, the class of 2025 organized a series of pranks throughout Prom week. Here’s a recap.
Monday
With the sun shining down on campus, seniors transformed the Green into a day at the beach. Students poured mountains of sand onto the grass, dressed in their beach attire, and layed down on pool floaties. “It’s very M-A,” social studies teacher Jack Neumeier said. “We aren’t here to harm anybody, we just wanted to do something silly.”
On the stage, seniors could participate in a friendly competition of the ice bucket challenge to see which senior could withstand the most ice water poured on them. “I think today’s senior prank was super fun,” senior Izzy Zohar said. “It’s not destructive to anything at school, and it brings all of us together.”

Tuesday
Seniors performed a flash mob during lunch on the Green to the songs “NOKIA” by Drake and “Yeah!” by Usher. Senior Zoe Fong, who made the music for the flash mob, reflected on her experience collaborating with her friends. “It has been so fun organizing this event. We’ve never really done something like this before in all my years that I have been at M-A, so it was really cool to be able to organize something like this with my classmates,” she said.
Senior class presidents and dance team members Lainey Egnal and Kaitlyn Harding were the organizers and choreographers of the flash mob. “We had a practice on Saturday to teach everyone the dances, and we sent videos with tutorials a couple weeks before,” Egnal said. “We also sold a bunch of senior shirts so that we would all be matching.”
“To see so many of my classmates involved and to be able to put on a really fun surprise will always be a great memory for me,” Fong said.

Wednesday
On Wednesday, seniors organized a “frat wedding” on the Green. The class showed up to school in their best formal attire to celebrate the wedding. As classical music blasted on the speakers, flower girls, bridesmaids, and groomsmen walked down the aisle. Finally, the bride, senior Caroline Bergan, walked down the makeshift aisle to meet the groom, senior Kasra Motamedi, at the altar, earning cheers from the students watching.
“I loved it. I think it was so funny and creative. It just shows that we can do so much when we get together. I feel like the senior spirit is really coming through,” senior Ayla Karadogan, one of the wedding’s fake officiators, said.

Thursday
To end their successful prank week, seniors wore white to throw colored chalk at each other on the Green.
“I felt ready to just let loose and release my inhibitions,” senior Abbie MacLeod said. “I think as a whole, this week’s pranks fostered senior inclusion and just created fun events for us to enjoy as the year comes to an end. It was less focused on the destructive aspect, and we are all enjoying it and having a lot of fun, and that’s all that really matters.”
