M-A Baseball got their record back to over .500 with a 2-0 victory over South San Francisco. The game was controlled by the Bears from the start, characterized by Junior Anthony Waller’s dominant pitching performance, who pitched five shutout innings for the Bears, giving only one hit up to South San Francisco.
Back to back doubles in the second inning by Daniel Heimuli and Tommy Eisenstat followed an hit by Pete Discher drove in two runs, giving the Bears an early lead. These early runs proved to be all the Bears needed thanks to the dominant pitching throughout. Following Waller’s 1-Hitter throughout five innings, Elliot Zeien pitched the last two innings of the day closing out the game for M-A.
Senior James Sullivan said, “We’ve recently finally started to click as a team. Putting together some good all around performances”. He continued that “We just have to keep working to support our pitchers in games hitting wise, we have some good competition coming up and we need to be ready for some close games”. The Bears are now 5-5-1 going into important matchups against rivals Woodside and Menlo School this week.
