Leadership hosted Fair Day, featuring carnival-themed games, music, and snacks on Tuesday. Students had the opportunity to play egg toss, musical chairs, and participate in a hula-hooping competition on the Green. Leadership students served popcorn, cotton candy, and caramel apple pops to students who attended. They also sold cosmic brownies, left over from the canceled Galaxy Gala, for $1.
“I just wanted to have an event for people during the year to just kind of chill out at lunch and have fun with their friends,” junior Charlie Weber, one of the event’s organizers, said. Weber mentioned events to look forward to this year. “We’re also doing Corn Day in a couple weeks.”
The event started off with an egg toss, where students got into pairs and had to spin in circles before throwing an egg to their partner, taking a step further away every time they were successful. After the game finished, Leadership called for volunteers to play musical chairs, and then brought on five more students for the hula-hoop competition.
While some students actively participated in the games, others enjoyed spectating. “I had a good time watching the egg toss. That was really fun. I like standing on the sidelines and watching. I think it’s funny,” junior Po Budagova said.
“It was a great turnout. There are so many people here, and working popcorn was great too,” junior and event organizer Andrea Valencia said. “It’s fun to put smiles on people’s faces.”
