Is London the Raiders’ next home?

There has been a lot of controversy regarding the Oakland Raiders’ next location. My answer: London.

The NFL has been playing a few games in London every year for the past five years and it has been a huge success. Recently, the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins played at Wembley Stadium in London. The stadium holds 84,000 and was sold out even though it coincided with a huge soccer game between Arsenal and Manchester United.

The English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur is moving into a new stadium which is built like a NFL stadium. The stadium is complete with artificial turf, NFL size locker rooms, and much more. Since the Raiders presently share a field with the Oakland A’s baseball team, the concept of sharing a stadium with another professional team makes sense. This is especially true since it will have all the luxuries NFL players and fans have come to expect.

The Raiders would be the first NFL team to start a franchise in London or anywhere other than the United States. This is not just a chance for the Raiders to get a fresh start but also something American football fans in London can get excited about. Moving to London will be a great chance for the Raiders to earn more money, increase publicity, and make a run for the title.
