The M-A Bears baseball team is getting ready for another great season. While the Bears lost four key players last year to graduation and one to an injury, they anticipate a successful season. Coach Amoroso is confident that this season will be one of their most successful seasons.

Amoroso is confident in the team’s abilities, especially with strong team members junior Nick Prainito, and seniors Matthew Johnston and Bret Rodrigues. Prainito was one of the strong leaders last year as a shortstop, Johnston is a powerful catcher, and Rodrigues is an important utility player. Amoroso will look for leadership from senior Nikolai Tarran, even though he is injured.

Amoroso shared the team’s goals this year: “to never be beaten on or off the field, to never be beaten in defensive battle, to run bases better than any team possible, and to not give up easy outs.” Amoroso hopes that his team stays united and that the players work to become the Pacific Athletic League (PAL) champions.

Prainito shared, “my goal is to bring anything I can to the table to help this team win and succeed— to do everything in my power to help this team win, and hopefully get CCS title this year. We are definitely closer as a team. I thought hell week really brought us together. [We are] a good group of guys ready to play. We have more chemistry this year than other years. I am looking foward to playing baseball with my best friends and having a good time out here.”

The M-A Bears baseball team is ready to compete and play hard to achieve victory.
