The friends and family of the late Dylan Taylor hosted a memorial service celebrating his life at Burgess Park on Sunday afternoon. Taylor coached freshman football at M-A and touched the lives of many in the community.
His family started the event with personalized speeches honoring Dylan’s life. Afterwards, the mic was offered to others who wanted to share their thoughts, feelings, memories, and condolences. Members in attendance were encouraged to wear “How I Knew Dylan” stickers to celebrate the connections he made throughout his life.
Taylor coached freshman Jaime Parada in football last fall. “Even though he came in late, he showed me what a coach who cares looks like. There’s no one else like him,” Parada said.
During the service, Taylor’s loved ones showcased a video that highlighted Taylor’s favorite people, places, and memories that he cherished throughout his life.
Whether he was coaching one of the four sports he loved or working with students as a paraeducator, Taylor was a vibrant member of the community, and his legacy will continue to be remembered.
Many who didn’t know Taylor personally still felt his presence and love through others. “He made such an impact on my boys, I always knew they were safe when he was with them,” an M-A parent said.
Items that represent special aspects of Taylor’s life were displayed at the event, including his Hillview Hawks jersey and his favorite foods, like his famous caramel brownies.

Taylor’s baseball team also gathered to celebrate Taylor’s memory at their baseball game last Wednesday.
Taylor’s Celebration of Life brought the community together to honor his life and the impact he had on others.
