Senior Events Are On The Way

With second semester just around the corner, seniors have an incredible lineup of events to look forward to. Senior Event Planners Evie Filipek and Sam Richman have arranged a variety of events for the senior class. “Second semester, we’re going big,” Richman said.

“Open When…” Letters

As the only senior activity left this semester, “Open When…” letters are a must-do. On Friday, Nov. 21, seniors will be able to write letters to their future selves. These will be opened at graduation, allowing graduates to reflect on their senior year goals.

Senior Shirts

Get ready to see the class of ’26 rocking new senior merch, as “Senior Shirts” will be available for purchase next semester. “We already have the design, but it’s a secret. They will be revealed pretty soon second semester,” Richman said. The event planners are also considering turning the design into hoodies if there’s enough demand.

Senior Sunset

An off-campus sequel to Senior Sunrise, Senior Sunset will take place at a local beach next semester. The sunset will offer seniors an opportunity to bond with their class amid beautiful scenery. “It’s going to be fun,” Richman said.

Senior Camping Trip

As a final opportunity for seniors to get away with their peers and celebrate, the senior camping trip is a highlight of the year. The planned location is right on the water, with fireplaces to huddle around and enjoy. “[It would be] a little space that would just be for us,” Filpek said. This event will have a fee, estimated to be around $20-$30 per person. It will also be limited to around 60 participants.

While not finalized yet, the event planners have some other possible activities in mind. Those include a “Senior Sundaes” event with ice cream, a nostalgic “Senior Movie Night,” and of course, M-A’s annual “Senior Pranks.” They also hope to bring back “Senior Pennants” for each student to decorate, depending on their college.
