Last Friday, hundreds of students and guests attended Leadership’s A Night in Vegas-themed prom at the San Francisco Design Center Galleria. The venue was expansive, with multiple floors filled to the brim with various activities. Students enjoyed a 360º video booth, a crêpe bar, air hockey, blackjack tables, and other casino games, making it a night to remember.
The Galleria’s main hall was used as the dance floor, allowing for a spacious area where students could congregate. The DJ kept the crowd engaged by hitting a wide variety of genres, including anything from “Love Story” by Taylor Swift to “Gasolina” by Daddy Yankee. Flashing colorful lights added to the magical atmosphere.
Senior Rowan Pecson said, “I liked the theme and the different music they had. Prom was really fun, and the Galleria had a lot of stuff to do. It was a really good experience.”
Activities away from the dance floor kept students occupied while they caught their breath. The gambling tables were a huge hit, fulfilling the Vegas theme. Junior Zach Cundy said, “Playing blackjack while not betting real money was fun. There was a lot to do, so my friends and I never felt bored.”
Towards the end of the night, Leadership announced the junior and senior prom court to an enthused crowd. Addison Youngblood and Jordan Hyland won for junior court, and Ofa Esafe and Bevany Garcia for senior court.
The event, falling between AP exams and finals prep, provided a much-needed break from the stress of school. The exhilarating event was a great way to signal the end of the year, and for seniors, the end of their journey at M-A.
