M-A’s Athletic Boosters hosted the 11th annual Big Bear Run on Saturday, May 1. The Big Bear Run is a community-wide 5K race that raises support and donations for the school’s sports programs. Students from M-A’s sports teams, families of students, and many other community members attended the event.
Overall reactions from this year’s event have been very positive. Sophomore Kaile Prosser enjoyed the event because it was “really fun and the amount of people there was perfect. There was a good range of people walking and running so nobody felt left out.”
Freshman Alicia Letvin observed that the race is “gaining popularity because the crowd seems to get bigger every year.” Letvin believes the Big Bear Run has also become a very well-liked event because “it’s a great chance to hang out with friends and get a little exercise too!”
Kirby Knapp, a junior at M-A, was “really happy that there were a lot of community members participating!” Knapp is also appreciative of the event because “it’s a great way to support the school’s athletic programs.”
