Local nail salons are abundant, but it’s hard to find your perfect match. Whether you’re looking for a good price, style, or quick service, each salon offers something different. Here is an honest review of nail salon options for the next time your polish cracks.
Sky Nails: 8/10
Sky Nails is a basic salon, perfect for the girlie in a hurry. Sky has one of the best price-to-quality ratios in the area. $25 for a regular manicure and $40 for gel make it a high-value establishment. With that in mind, Sky Nails is not the place to go if you want fun and frills, as their main goal is quick and easy service. Our gel manicures took about 35 minutes from start to finish, including cuticle prep, color, and lotion. It won’t be fancy, but it’ll get you in and out, satisfied, before your next appointment.
Kendra’s: 4/10
Kendra’s is a bit of a mixed bag. The service is not as good as Sky Nails, despite it being pricier. After leaving with a hole ripped in my nail due to their rough manner, I hold a grudge against Kendras, though I’ve heard of plenty of positive experiences. The manicures are very hit or miss, preventing it from becoming a go-to spot. The space is cute, and the staff is welcoming, but for the same price, you might as well head to Sky Nails for a faster, more reliable result.
La Jolie: 9/10
La Jolie is an old-school, classy nail salon. With a curtain-shrouded entry and an extensive list of services, La Jolie exudes luxury. A separate room in the back is dedicated to manicure-only clients, which can make it tricky if you’re visiting with someone getting a pedicure. The manicure prices are identical to Sky Nails, though the process is much more advanced. My Valentine’s Day acrylics were perfect, with a simple design executed beautifully and spot on to my inspiration. La Jolie is an excellent option if you’re looking to be pampered and have a few extra minutes to spare.
Jason’s Nails: 8/10
For bold nails that match a big occasion, look no further than Jason’s Nails. Jason’s acrylic nails are $60-$100 depending on the design and any added accessories like gems, so it can be on the pricier side. This is not the place for a basic manicure—they’re all about Pinterest or TikTok-inspired designs, no matter how challenging. While they deliver eye-catching nails, the service can feel rushed, and they sometimes take creative liberty, which may not always end up in your favor. Still, they’re a great option when you need show-stopping nails in a hurry.
Nail Bar: 7/10
This is the place to go when you want your nails to look trendy and fun. They offer a beverage of your choice while you wait and continue refilling it throughout your appointment. Along with the drinks, fruits like oranges, strawberries, and apples are also complementary to customers. Their nail skills are also on par with the service. They can do simple designs, but finishing can take a while. Inspo photos help them, but harder designs might be challenging for them to perfect. It costs $55-$70 for acrylic and gel nails, so they are on the pricier side, but they take great care of you and can get the job done.
Charisma: 9/10
Charisma is a friendly establishment that offers many other services like cutting and styling hair along with nails. If you have events to attend, they can do it all. Their prices range from $30-$80. This is mainly because their system allows you to pick a package, and depending on which one is selected, you get more treatments done. For example, some treatments may include massaging, applying warm wax and hot stones to your hands, and getting your nails done. They are classified as a luxury spa, which is fitting considering they are very thorough with their work and allow you to pick options for curing your nails that are safer for your nail beds. Overall, they perform well and take good care of their clients.
