The long-awaited night has finally arrived—Prom. This year’s Met Gala-themed event called for drama, glamour, and style, and the Bears understood the assignment. Beyond the event itself, many argue the real entertainment lies in seeing what everyone wears.

Junior Jaysce Reese was a showstopper. Her silk, off-the-shoulder corset dress with flowers on the top floated with elegance. A pearl purse completed the look, tying everything together. “I was looking for something that wasn’t basic but wasn’t too much since it was my junior prom,” Reese said. “I went with pink because I felt like it was something different a lot of people wouldn’t wear, and I wanted to stand out instead of blend in.”

Senior Telila Mano Naufahu didn’t hold back and matched the Met Gala theme with perfect execution. Although not much thought was put behind her outfit, Naufahu was able to meet expectations like no other. “I honestly just saw it on the mannequin and thought that I’d look okay in it. The stripes on the side really stood out and I thought the color was nice,” Naufahu said. Her dark navy suit gave off a clean, classic look, and the glasses added an extra level of swag. “I liked how everyone wore a little bit of everything. It shows their taste when it comes to formal fashion,” Naufahu added.

Junior Samantha Ruiz and seniors Esperanza Marroquin and Camille Scott are an iconic fashion trio. Both Ruiz and Marroquin wore dresses from BabyBoo, while Scott’s dress is from Revolve. “I had the dress in my shopping list for a while and I thought this would be so cute for prom because it would be sleeping with beauty vibes,” Scott said.
“My dress was actually super last minute and I bought it exactly a week before prom, but as for choosing the color of my dress I always knew I wanted to do yellow for my senior year,” Marroquin said. Together, Ruiz, Scott, and Marroquin were effortlessly flawless and delivered standout looks.

Senior Carter Ard made heads turn when he entered City Hall. His fashionable taste was prominent when picking an outfit for prom. “I really like the purple color because the darker color compliments me more. My jewels and accessories were just lying in my drawer, so I figured I’d add them just for the extra pizazz,” Ard said. His dark purple tux from Men’s Warehouse added a mysterious look, while accessories brought a polished vibe to the outfit.

Senior Abbie MacLeod didn’t waste time when it came to finding her perfect prom dress. “Typically, I leave shopping until the last minute, and while I loved my dress last year, I bought it six days before prom. This year, I did not want to make the same mistake,” MacLeod said. Her strategically planned outfit was worth it. The dress, ordered from Stacee’s, was complemented by jewelry and shoes from M-A’s Prom Closet. “The moms at Prom Closet were incredibly helpful in putting my outfit together, as I am not naturally fashion inclined,” she said.

Seniors Tatiana Lupe Talisa and Joseph Tautuiaki had flawlessly coordinated looks. Talisa’s custom-made dress, crafted by a close family friend, stood out as one of a kind. “I wanted to be different from everyone else and have a custom-made dress for the special occasion, knowing it would be the last thing most people from school would remember me by,” she said. Talisa and Tautuiaki added personal touches by wearing money leis that represent their culture. “The money leis are a part of our culture and more so respect from our family, celebrating us going on in life and moving forward to bigger and better things,” Talisa said.
